Pinkie & the Brain is a sole-trader business operated by Dylan Coppard from 2 Glenmoor, L'Amont De La Ville Bagot, St. Ouen, Jersey JE3 2DF. This Privacy Notice explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit pinkieandthebrain.com or get in touch through the contact form.

Who controls your data

Dylan Glen Coppard, trading as Pinkie & the Brain, is the data controller for any personal information collected through this site. You can contact me at dylan@pinkieandthebrain.com. I am in the process of registering with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

What I collect

When you submit the contact form, I collect your name, your email address, and the contents of your message.

When you visit the site, the hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance monitoring.

Visitor analytics. I use two privacy-preserving analytics tools, Vercel Analytics and Metricool, to count visits and see which pages are read. Between them they record the page address, the page you arrived from, your screen size, and your IP address. Neither sets cookies, and neither stores anything on your device. I cannot identify you from any of it.

I do not use advertising trackers, cross-site tracking, or any tool that builds a profile of you.

Why I collect it

Your contact details and message are collected so I can respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is legitimate interest — you've reached out asking for a response. I do not use your contact information for marketing without your explicit consent.

Server logs are retained for security and performance purposes (legitimate interest).

Who I share it with

I use SendGrid (Twilio Inc.) to deliver email notifications of contact-form submissions. SendGrid is a US-based email service provider acting as a data processor. International transfers of your personal data are governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) published in Twilio's Data Processing Addendum. Your contact-form message is transmitted to me via SendGrid's servers.

I use Metricool (Metricool Software S.L., Spain) and Vercel Analyticsto measure site traffic. Both act as data processors. Metricool is based in the EU; Vercel is US-based and international transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses.

I do not sell or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How long I keep it

• Contact-form messages: retained for up to 3 years from your last contact with me, unless you request earlier deletion.
• Server logs: retained for up to 30 days by Vercel.
• Analytics: aggregate visit counts only, retained by Vercel and Metricool per their own retention policies. No cookies, nothing stored on your device.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data I hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to my processing of your data
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all, essential or otherwise. The analytics tools described above are cookieless and store nothing on your device, which is why you are not asked to accept anything to read this site.
